I got that lecture once, when I was 15 and my family became, well, sort of in the news. I did just what Mother said and it was a good thing.

My sister and I were told every time we went out the door, how to act and what to say. Don't embarrass the family.
Southerners don't turn on family no matter what they do. We hold on tight, defend them to the death and hold our heads high.
This is so true. If you marry into the family same thing. We all love each other to death. Low and behold don't you dare do anything to our family members, it is war! (no matter what we did first) LOL

Southerners don't turn on family no matter what they do.BS! Some of us "Southerners" wouldn't think of putting our family through this. And yes they would KILL me if I ever thought about it and I know it!
