Any idea where the "my oh naise" came from? My sister says that also. And only yankees say "mayo".

No idea, except Charleston natives say it differently. And you're right about "mayo". My husband's from Pennsylvania and if he says "mayo" (he's learned not too) I'll ask him what in the world he's talking about - never heard of it - can't figure out what he's talking about - get the word right or you'll have a dry sandwich.
