I just got on line and haven't had chance to read this whole thread---dang, some of ya'll stayed up all night with this?
I just watched the most bizarre replay on Fox. They were interviewing the fiance right after finding out she was alive, but before they found out it was a hoax.....
He was asked how he felt and he said something like--"Better, although I knew either way it had turned out would have been GOOD, if she was DEAD, that would have been GREAT because she would have been in heaven, but if she was alive then of course that would be GOOD also....it was the not knowing that is the worst".
Of course we all know that the waiting is the worst, BUT---
I could not beleive the blase way that he said, if she was dead, that would be great because she would be in heaven...
I am a Christian, but even some of the most devout Christians that I know would be devastated at the idea of their fiance, dying just a few days before they were to get married.....This just didn't set right with me...
Am I reading too much into that comment he made? Did any of ya'll see that interview and think it was an odd way for him to react?
I saw that,,he is not the sharpest guy is he.
Now I have to go eat!
No.
That's freakish.
I've said there's something strange about him. That's been my story, and I'm sticking to it.
***ducking, AGAIN***
Boyfriend said, "if she was DEAD, that would have been GREAT because she would have been in heaven,"
What a fricken bizzare thing to say. He's a flake too!
Say, what's in Georgia's water? LOL Is somebody spiking it with moonshine?
Another example of feeble minded religious nuts.
No, that was a really creepy thing to say.
It's a weird thing to say... but lets not forget, he'd been up the last several nights, stressing out, and I would say that the "not knowing" IS actually the worst part... not knowing how long the wait will be until they know at least what happened. That's probably what he was trying to articulate. Uncertainty is more stressful even than bad news. Many of us who suddenly find ourselves with a mike put in front of us end up saying stuff we'd never recognize. I know it has happened to me when put on the spot ;~D
My experience is that that is quite typical fundalmentalist-speak.
