There is still something strange about this abduction, IMO.Abduct, cut hair, drive across the country, and release. Strange alright. It's a first in my 50 years of watching news stories.

Kidnapping is a serious crime: when its done, it shouldn't leave witnesses. Allrighty then.
You have the perfect screen name. lol!

Hey arasina, haven't bumped into you in a while! Nice seeing you in the wee hours! ;-) I got up to get a drink of water at 2am and had the misfortune of checking FR - it's an hour later now, haha!
And I have to admit, I believed that the fiance was sincere - he had a wide-eyed look about him, not the look of a killer. That was my gut talking or was it that burrito Iate right before bedtime doing the talking? :-)
We are of like mind, though, on the 'something smells.' I am unsure what is smelly in this situation, if anything, but something is odd here. As I posted a bit so far, these kidnappers are VERY dumb to try this and let her go, IF she got a decent look at them. It doesn't add up - but in life, sometimes things don't add up.
For now I am happy she is alive but I am open minded - the cops tend to follow leads and we will know more about this in the coming day and weeks.
Keep on Truckin!

Well, I do happen to know a lot about the criminal mind and criminal 'street smarts.' Entirely a coincidence, of course! :-

LETS HER GO because of too much media attention??? Sham........ possibly!
Maybe they had cable TV in the van or something. Did they ever stop at a motel? Who knows. To misuse a good Rumsfeld line, the problem is that we don't know what it is that we don't know.
At this point, almost everything is speculation. And there is nothing wrong with a little brainstorming.
Apparently, the thread police are forgetting the effect that FReeper speculation had on a recent attempt by CBS to fix an election.
Perhaps they should consider getting an enema.

That being said, something just isn't right about this situation. It's not passing my natural and patented BS Detection System. I'm with you! Too many things don't add up. If the kidnappers wanted ransom, why didn't they demand it within the first couple of days before the story went nation wide? She claims she was jogging and the kidnappers just came up behind her, grabbed her and threw her in a van. Was the van parked and they jumped out and grabbed her as she ran by or did they follow her with the van and then stop quickly and grab her? Wouldn't she have noticed a van following her even with headphones on? Why did it take 3 days to get from Duluth, Ga to Albuquerque, NM? According to Yahoo it's a 22 hr. 43 min. drive. Easily done in a day and a half with 2 drivers.
Those are just a few things that bother me about her story. Like you I'll wait to see what happens, but for now I'm skeptical.

No, it's an observation that there is a lack of evidence to support what is being said.

Yup, pretty much. So, why don't you lighten up. This isn't the House of Lords.

To: Misty Memory
This story does smell a tad bit.
First: The fiance refused a police administered polygraph test unless the police agreed to conditions his lawyer probably knew they'd never agree to.
Second: She's just been released by kidnappers and the first person she calls is her fiance and not 911?
Third: She looks insane.
Could be a possible fake kidnapping to get ransom money from the parents.
