How Charming, Hildy.

Short on a sense of humor, I see.

God, how I love the judgmental ones.

That statement to you about oxygen at birth was just plain ignorant.

Have you considered using the ignore button?

I don't know what you two are bickering over but it is getting down to name calling IMO.

Having a son who was stillborn and one of the smartest, insightful and intelligent humans I have ever known proves what an ignorant childish statement she/he made to you.

"Understand?"

Ah, NO. I see you as what I took you for. Someone who comes onto to thread to stomp somebody for a stand they they took. You're pretty transparent.

You're stepping into a disagreement of which you have no knowledge. That putdown of mine is a bit insensitive to some, I know that, but it was directed at a poster who had been relentlessly and incorrectly haranguing many poster on this thread for their speculation on this story...... calling their speculation "crap" and other delightful terms. Their speculation turned out to be very correct, btw. So, please feel free to butt out.

Sorry, But what if I called ALL of the speculation out of line. OR WE DON'T CARE. WHAT in the world would you do then?

You can ask us to step out, but we all really, really are still here!!

I'm not understanding you. The poster Friday night was criticizing many others here for wondering if there was something odd about the story --- that an abductor would abduct someone, cut their hair, take them across the country, then LET THEM GO because of too much media attention. It seemed too far-fetched to some. We felt that the story had a particular smell to it. It turned out that it did.

Speculation is not all bad is my point. I don't think we should disagree on that.

The poster was telling everyone (in some colorful language) to wait for the facts to come out. We pointed out that if FR and others had waited for all the facts to come out on Rathergate, there may have been a different president.

Anyhow, healthy speculation is a benefit often, imo.

Huh? What different president do you see if we had "waited" for a different set of facts on Rathergate?......I'd really like to know......

I still hopes she gets a full panal thyroid scree done and a physical when she get home.

I pray she grows a spine and tells her family what is eating at her and that they respect and support her personal views.

She needs to get something off her chest and move on in life.

"In 1967, the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour premiered. Pat was hired because he sold them cheap songs and would run errands. At first he was cast as their editorialist and his double talk comments on the issues of the day propelled him into the national consciousness. "I felt I was saying real important things and also I got a lot more money."

Pat was later approached by the Smothers Brothers with the idea of running for President. Pat's reply was "Why not? I can't dance - besides, the job has a good pension plan and I'll get a lot of money whan I retire."

Pat's campaign was based in comedy and he ran it using outright lies, double talk and unfounded attacks on his challengers. Who would have thought this style would be the method of campaigns in the future? His work on the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour earned Pat an Emmy in 1968.

****

He was a very nice guy. He came to Carnegie Mellon (Tech) in 1972 and brought the house down.

"Anyhow, healthy speculation is a benefit often, imo."

Does that give you an excuse to delve into someone's personal page? Because every poster ought to know you will respond about what someone has on there personal page. And you will respond privately. Aint' that convenient?

But that has nothing to do with the story.......or does it?

OMG, don't tell me you are really Pat Paulsen!

Who knew he was still alive?

Better yet, WHO CARED?

Talk about someone from the 60's who thought he was WAY more important than he ever was.....
