And this is in small town Georgia. Andy Taylor and Barney Fife don't frame people.

Gee. I always thought the tune The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia was based on a true story.

EXCERPT

A friend of Wilbanks', Killie McCauley, said the wedding was "the talk of the town."

"She was so in love," McCauley said before heading out to search the woods Thursday. "Everybody knows her."

The bride, a nurse who works at an obstetrics and gynecology clinic, is recognized in town from her long jogs. Fourteen bridesmaids were planning to stand beside her as she married Mason, a 32-year-old office manager whom a friend described as "a big teddy bear."

Mason works at Mason Primary Care, which his family owns, said Andy Parsons, the Mason family's management consultant.

"He is one of the most decent, upstanding Christian men I've ever met," said Parsons, who meets weekly with Mason for a private Bible study session. "He's the teacher. I'm the pupil."

Mason, who teaches a Sunday school class and coaches his church's youth basketball team, is frightened, Parsons said.

"He is scared at the moment. His fiance disappeared. He's scared for Jennifer's safety," said Parsons, who has visited Mason at home since Wilbanks' disappearance. "I would say he's drawing on every ounce of strength that he's got. He's still trying to remain positive."

Melinda Larson, a friend of Mason's, said he was excited about the wedding. "Jennifer had a dream of this huge, elaborate wedding, and John was so supportive."

Mason attended the family news conference but did not talk to reporters. Satterfield, the bride's uncle, said Mason wanted to talk but wasn't sure what to say.

"There's not much John can say that wouldn't make speculation worse," Satterfield said.

Good for you. But are you really too chicken to "speculate"?

hahahahaha who do you think i am Marty McFly?

I don't like wasting my time wondering about stuff that will be answered as time goes on. Have fun with it though. I'll check back in when some evidence is presented.

"I had hoped, (assuming she's dead) that the driver of a car might have hit her, panicked, and dumped her lifeless body miles away."

That's not out of the question...good thought.

"...the wedding was "the talk of the town."

Indeed. Maybe somebody didn't get an invite?

Wow! Woman goes out for jog, walk, etc. Woman disappears. It's enough to make a woman think twice about trying to exercise.

Yeah, he did it.

I would NEVER take a polygraph. With a 10% false positive, only a knucklehead would gamble their innocence on one of those!

If you take a polygraph test, you're stupid. If you pass it you're not cleared, and if you fail it, you're toast.

They're not admissible in court because they're not reliable, so you can't flash your winning test as evidence that you're innocent.

In other words, all they can do is make police scrutiny of you even more intense than it already is.

There's no upside whatsoever.

I relearned the skill. It still works. The eyes of evil are easy to see. I've only seen his eyes on TV so it is not as accurate but I can see a very cavalier "Oops my fiancee is missing" look.

I think most sociopaths could pass a lie detector test. I've been acquainted with a couple of them and if they told you the sky was green - you wouldn't even check - they are that convincing.:o)

Maybe a jealous psychotic ex-boyfriend took action just before this wedding?
