Bush moving your way on the solvency problem but is rock solid on private accounts and ownership. He actually made a very good case if anybody cared to listen.

The President really has mastered his job. He was on top of each issue with no stumbles and he still remained as gracious and contactful as ever.

My only concern was his makeup. If you compare his with that of Brit Hume or anyone on Fox News, it left a lot to be desired. His makeup seemed to conceal fine musculature in his face and had a patchy look. Could be my TV but the Fox personnel looked just great. Since TV is a visual media, someone should hire Fox makeup artists the next time around.

Sigh. So it will be even more Socialist Security than even before: "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need."

The private accounts are a fine idea, but I don't like the idea of this "progressive indexing."

I don't why so many bad, socialist ideas get tagged with the word "progressive", but I use its appearance as a big red flag that it indicates some lefty idea.

"That was a homerun folks. You can tell by the sad looks on the MS Press. If they report on what he actually said the mood of the entire country will improve dramatically! They got the horns tonight."

Yes, Liberty! GRAND SLAM. :-)

That is so true I wish our government would look at something along these lines I cringed each month when I look at my wage slip and see both my deductions on tax and national insurance and what am I getting for it.

I think the answer is....payroll tax for SS, plus funds for indigent children, and those who lose parent(s).....also, I believe for some children's other services if they have no parent...but, ya know...I'm NOT an expert on SS...LOL

how bout his equating China and Russia as our partners for peace in dealing with kim jong ill and north korea.

They armed Kim and they pull his strings, even today.
Ill is a clearly a sock puppet of the Red Chicoms.

'partners' my a$$!!!

Bush is now giving kudos to the Central American Free Trade Agreement, CAFTA.

Wow, yet another 'screw america first' agreement with UNFAIR rules of competition. His 'leveling of the nations' cadre of friends, per their quest for one world government, have got to be rejoicing in their enclaves of globalism about this disgusting trade proposal... What a concept!!! Regional trade governments that can economically be used to superceed national sovereignty.

Thanks Bush.
For nothing.

I wonder, of the candidates for republican president 2008, WHO is the most 'small government, less intrusive, nationally biased' candidate available to us?

This show tonight of W's.... absolutely a nightmare.
His agenda is the antithesis of what I as a conservative believe in.

I clicked him off.
I have had enough.
I am goint to seriously pray for gridlock.

Yes that cutting it short was noted by others. I have been watching FOX and their Fox News Channel did not cut away but the Fox entertainment channel evidently did.

Jim Angle- either reduce benefits for wealthy or raise taxes. Difficult for Dems to oppose changes that will help poor get more out of S.S.

brit-can the Dems continue to sit back with no idea.

Easton-can't look like obstructionists.

Mort-Dems have no intention to deal.

Fred-no political pressure to Dems to change pressure.

I am just wrapping up work, and did not listen to Bush, but Bush could not have made a persuasive case for private accounts because it is impossible to make a persuasive case for private accounts. The moral hazard problem is simply a killer, even if all the other issues are ironed out.

< You, a conservative, advocating the break-up of families? I'm sure you're not gonna break up yours. >

Let me be a bit more clear. Lean in real close.

You - take - the - family - with - you.

Why does FNC have ANYONE from the Boston Globe?

The boston globe is an absolute joke. The boston globe has no credibility to comment on the color of GWB's shoes let alone speech.

She was USELESS.

Imagine not having withholding and having to watch your bank account drain by writing a check to the government -- if everyone had to do that, tax reform would come quickly!

Doesn't Paris look like she's wearing one of those big Mickey Mouse gloves?

By the way, when doesn't the old networks spike President Bush for one of their lame shows?
