What amazes me in this entire episode is that we sit here and talk about this. We discuss it, we get upset and angry about it.
Can you imagine these people trying something of this nature when our Forefathers were agitating for revolution?
This entire school building would have been burned to the ground, the Principle along with the teachers would have been found hanging from trees the next morning.
That public school is public...duh...so how can this taxpayer be "trespassing" when he is in the building he helped pay for? AND he did have an appointment to be there, didn't he? If these questions be stupid, then color me stupid.
I could be wrong, but I don't think public schools were around yet, in the late 1700's. But your point is well taken. Parents then were alot wiser.
Heck, there wasn't even Sunday School. Little Johnny and Mary (and Martha and Samuel and Joseph and Abigail and Joshua and Rebecca) went to church with Mom and Dad, and sat in church with Mom and Dad.
My buddy does this with his SEVEN kids. They are far and away the most well behaved kids of any age in that church. They also have a deeper understanding of spiritual matters than most kids their age.
yup.
