Nonsense. The truth is that Mac users are WAAAY past caring about what goes on in the MS world.
You better have a talk with HAL. The guy can't help frothing at the mouth over every PC-related thread.

If you don't spend a lot of time and thought on a Windows box you're likely to end up with a spyware-infested spam zombie. I like the zombie reference, pretty good.

Kind of like driving a car. If you don't know WTF you're doing, you're likely to have problems.

No kidding ... my wife looks at me like I've lost my mind when I say something to the effect of "Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue"

Is this a trick question? You know that Tiger supports 64-bit apps in addition to its dozens of other improvements, right?
Cool! Can I get it for free?
To: ShadowAce
But Rush is a big MAC user and happy about being so. He does not have a leftist bone in his bod either. Nor do I, and I can't wait for the Tiger to leap into my iMAC.
To: frgoff
Rush Limbaugh called PCs the dark ages of computing, and he's right.
Right. After he called his dealer to feed his prescription drug habit.

Oh man, I can't wait. The synchronized mobile directories are going to be out of this world. Spotlight is going to rock. I don;t know about Dashboard. Woo hoo!
Oh, God. Another lifestyle upgrade.

Question about the G5 and Mac OS. Does it support 64 bit integers and do 64 bit math, or is it just an expanded memory space?

Sure, if you know where to look and don't fear Apple's lawyers. Or you can just buy a new Mac :)

But more so with a manual than an automatic. But when that automatic breaks, fixing it is likely to be more expensive than fixing the manual.
I don't know quite what that means - I just wanted to see how far we could extend the analogy >:^)

No, I meant a legitimate copy for free. I can get a freebie from Microsoft of XP 64-bit Edition just by asking. Does Apple offer anything similar?
To: Bush2000
That's interesting. Microsoft, who has one of the most invasive software protection implementation schemes, is giving away their OS for free? Why?
To the uninformed (me) I would guess it is either not ready for prime time, the pool of applications that can run on it is miniscule, it is only compatible with limited hardware, or this is their way of testing their product.
I just looked around, and it seems only AMD chips will run it? Maybe that is why, but it does look like it will run all your 32 bit apps...
Apparently, you have used it, what do you think?

OK - I knew I was right (Post 22), but just how long did it take you to complete your analysis!!? About an hour and a half... It really is not important but I got curious.

That's 88% of the threads about Longhorn, for those playing at home. So basically, this notion that you guys do nothing to provoke the flamewars, that it's just those nasty other folks invading someone else's thread and causing all the trouble, is just complete BS. Sell it somewhere else. Sell it yourself. I looked at the Mac threads... and 100% were invaded by Windows partisans... and usually included insults to the Mac users.
I went through seven of your Longhorn threads (latest back) and found only ONE insult from a Mac user to a Windows users... but multiple insults from Windows users to Mac users. Often the subject of Macs was brought up either in the posted article or by a Windows user... making it a legitimate subject for discussion in those threads, especially if a comparison was being made one way or the other.

Right. After he called his dealer to feed his prescription drug habit. Wait. Oh I get it. You're making a sly inference that Rush's comments were influenced by drug use!
Now that's clever.
No, really. Did you come up with that one, or are you sincerely flattering another wordsmith? I guess it doesn't matter, but seriously, isn't there a freeper award for such original thinking? I mean I wouldn't want to embarrass you if it were borrowed , but if you came up with that one yourself I really think you should get that recognition.
So often writers resort to the most banal cliches, but you really knocked socks off with that witticism.

But when that automatic breaks, fixing it is likely to be more expensive than fixing the manual. I don't know about that... a friend with a stick shift car just got a quote to repair the transmission... $2700 or there-abouts.
