Of course the righteous do get into heaven even without a significant other. Love comes in many forms. For the record, I did not advance a new theology. I was simply commenting on married love. This is not to take away anything from people who serve others their entire lives and God also appreciates their gift of love. Our redemption hinges on having a conscience, and I mentioned, evil people don't have one. Their interior lives are like a vacant desert, undeveloped and bleak. Redeeming such human beings is more of a challenge for theology than it is for science and the law for neither of the latter can ever help them regain their missing faculty. It is conscience that endows us with awareness and sensitivity. We serve others to please God. Damaged souls who lead lives of kindness still have a conscience. The mysteries of God make us ponder: how does He give some of us limits and make others pitiless and void of character? Would that all of us had the still small voice within us but a world without evil would not be a world with a capacity for goodness. Human horrors lead us to acts of recompense small and great alike and it is only in this way we realize the greatness of the human spirit.

I personally think (and you may ultimately agree with this as well) that those without conscience only are because at one point they (as it clearly was with the monster John Evander Couey) chose to harden their hearts to that Still, Small Voice at not just one, but several times until they could no longer hear it. If they had never had that choice, they could not be condemned for their actions for they would be even as the animals: ultimately ignorant of the scope and weight of their deeds.
