way to evade...and I would still take Montana first....

I ask again, if you had to pick between Vick and Harrington, who would you take?

If I had to pick between Vick and Harrington, I'd take up golf. Here's my view: Vick is a running QB, who has never shown to be a particularly efficient passer. Because of his phenomenal athletic ability, he makes a lot of yards. However, running QBs who don't become dangerous passers (like Steve Young or Roger Staubach) seldom last very long in the NFL. I think he's somewhat overhyped, and his massive contract would make it difficult to flesh out the rest of the team. Harrington, OTOH, has never shown himself to be particularly adept at tough games. he's above average, but not by that much. Except for Barry Sanders (and note that Sanders chose to retire with the rushing title in reach, voluntarily making himself less of a legend than he would have been, and he specifically stated in his retirement letter that the Lions refusal to commit to winning was the primary reason he retired), Lion players tend to trend toward mediocrity. I don't know why, but there's something that has screamed mediocre about the entire team ever since the sixties. Their uniforms, the lighting in their domed stadium, their play selection, everything eminently says "generic football team."

In a single game, I'd go with Vick. Because I think Vick will get injured (and his herpes may make him lose a step), I would probably rather build a team around Harrington.

Harrington...he's got better stats...as long as I get Atlanta's defense instead of Detroit's. By the way, did you see how Atlanta's management has totally bought into the Ron Mexico disease by drafting yet another wide receiver in the first round (two years in a row plus the acquisition of Peerless Price)i.e. if Vick's stats aren't good it must be the wide receiver's fault. Next year when Vick is unable to read defenses and continues to run first, pass last there will be more excuses. Isn't it interesting that Peerless Price caught 94 balls for 1252 yards with Buffalo in 2002. Last year, as Vick's primary target he caught 45 balls for 575 yards...must be the water. Yet Vick gets the endorsements and Drew Bledsoe gets nothing. Vick is too busy running to see his receivers. When was the last time a running quarterback won the SuperBowl? If running quarterbacks are so valued why was Matt Jones drafted as a reciever? He had better collegiate rushing numbers than ol' Ron Mexico.
