I ate in a Panda's chinese restaurant today, every one of the help were illegal Mexicans.

And how did you determine that?

That decision really isn't up to us, it's up to their lawyers and the right civil jury.

No I can decide for myself, I don't need a jury. Kind of like you decided someone was, "soft on crime" for not prosecuting Haab.

What does my position on it have to do with anything?

You complained that the county prosecutor was "soft on crime" when you yourself have been an advocate that illegal immigration is no more serious than a traffic ticket.

What the perp here included multiple VIOLENT felonies. It's like the difference between a ticket for jaywalking and vehicular homicide.

Only if a jury found him guilty. If I'm on the jury, he walks.

To even get to that point you must first pass the . . . evaluation.

If true, this is great. It was stupid in the first place and the State of AZ owes him an apology.

No Joe Arpaio owes him an apology.

I'll thank you not to badmouth my beloved Sheriff. He is extremely well liked in this County and there are many reasons why.

Not by Republicans - not anymore. In fact, the Maricopa County Republican Party refused to support him.

In part one, the illegals charged toward him and he drew his gun to defend himself. It was a perfectly legal exercise of his Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms and his rights under Arizona Revised Statues to threaten deadly force if he believes he is about to be badly injured in an attack.
Part two of our story starts when the illegals dispersed and ran to their Suburban. At that point he was no longer in danger. His next action should have been to holster his weapon and go on about his business

This shows the wimpification of America.
A bunch of people attack you and you pull out a weapon. They stop, you put your weapon away, they start, you pull your weapon out, they stop, you put your weapon away.

no. No NO. Its not red light green light. In the real world they will run and GET A WEAPON and the only putting away will be when they put your dead body away in the morgue.

We need to get the Feds to pay each state to deport 1000 or so Illegals a month - thats 50000 a month for starters. But deport them only after they ride shotgun in Iraq for a year.

Deterrence - watch the movie.

It's not what I hope that matters. I'm sure there were a lot of people who 'hoped' that O.J. wouldn't be sued in civil court for what he did to his wife - that doesn't mean he shouldn't have had to face responsibility for what he did, even though he got a free pass from the criminal courts.

But Haab did not commit a crime. Haab performed a legal citizens arrest and only used the legally prescribed amount of force to do it. That's the bottom line. All the whining and spin and stomping of feet in the world from you won't change that. You lost. A patriotic war veteran IS NOT going to have to rot in prison for upholding the law. And only a quisling would have wanted it so.

We've been down this road before - immigration violations are simply not a responsibility of state law enforcement. You can't paint them with being soft on crime.

Apparently that is not the case. If the Federal government isn't going to stop the invasion, it is left to the states. Arizona just passed a few laws and propositions which take this into state hands. The most recent was the human trafficking law which makes it a felony to engage in human trafficking. So, you're wrong...once again. I'm sorry, but wishing so hard that the invasion will continue unimpeded won't make it so.

Okay, once again, louder...and...slower...

They ran toward him. He drew his gun. They stopped running toward him. They ran away from him and got into an SUV. At that point the threat to him was over. At that point he had no legal right to FOLLOW THEM TO THE SUV and point his gun at them.

Why is this so difficult for some people to comprehend?

I did not think it made any sense when he was arrested to begin with. I do not think someone entering our country illegally should have the same civil rights US citizens have, I just happen to know they do. It seems to be a real surprise when some people find out.

I would just like to see someone break the law in Mexico and then scream about civil rights. The Mexican authorities would have a real good laugh about that.

Need I remind you of Prop 187 in California? Immigration is NOT a state matter unless congress allows it to be.

But Haab did not commit a crime.

Technically, neither did O.J., but he still was resposible for a hefty civil judgement. And let's knock off the name calling, OK? We don't need to start down that road again.

In America, jury selection favors the defendant. How do they do things in Mexico?
