don't most mothers usually stop breast feeding before 1 year? My son was breastfed until he was 3 1/2. He decided on his own to quit.
It's way cheaper than formula.
It's way easier than bottles.
It's more healthy for the kid.
Why the heck not?

It never ceases to amaze me how such ninnies can bitch about a mother having to extract a "mammary" to feed her hungry baby.
A "distaction" would be a 10 year old standing up and suckling his mom's fountains.

My wife stopped the minute my son started cutting teeth
.........I stopped shortly afterwards as well

Why the heck not? Did you have any life for 3 1/2 years?

My son was breastfed until he was 3 1/2. You're either the bravest woman I've heard of or the cheapest...I don't think I could have trusted nursing after the teeth came in. If only I could teach the Mrs. how to economize like that!

I knew it was time for my 20-month old to quit when she pulled my teeshirt down, climbed off my lap and said, "Thanks, Mom."
