Scientists have never been able to duplicate (or come even close) to the properties of breast milk. Or the dispensing system, either.

I knew it was time for my 20-month old to quit when she pulled my teeshirt down, climbed off my lap and said, "Thanks, Mom."

It's not nice to mess with mother nature. Breast milk rocks - any time any place.

You're either the bravest woman I've heard of or the cheapest...I don't think I could have trusted nursing after the teeth came in. If only I could teach the Mrs. how to economize like that! Our three older kids were not fully weaned until their third birthday; but that was the cutoff point. The fourth is not quite three months old, so I'll let you know how it goes. =]

It's fortunate that my church has a Mother's Lounge. A nice seperate room with a couch and comfy chairs. My favorite stores are places that partition off an area off the bathroom for nursing mommies.
At first I was uncomfortable about nursing in public. I was just sure I would hear comments. I have gotten more comfortable, though. Even while grocery shopping I will hold my baby under a blanket and most of the time people don't notice. I have seen other women smile when they see little feet sticking out from under the blanket.

You cannot start cows milk until the child is one year old. Oh, oh........A lot of us who were born in the 1950's are doomed.

If you can "pee in public" and not leave a stain, have at it. I doubt you can...;-) Sure you can.
A man can urinate into a lidded urinal in public just as discretely as a woman can breastfeed in public. All it takes is a strategically placed piece of cloth.
Both are natural body functions involving parts of the human anatomy that are not usually displayed in public. The only difference is that breastfeeding is Politically Correct in 2005 while urination is not. Back in, say, 1955, both would have been equally shocking at a City Council meeting.

Not me: I'm into cheap thrills, so I'm looking pretty closely. If it weren't for sale, it wouldn't be on display, right? You perv, the proper approach is a zoom lense from across the street. :-)

Ahhh! you got me!
After I posted that, I thought of the bottles pilots and passengers of private planes on long trips use but I was gonna let it ride.

In today's email:
Students in an advanced biology class were taking a mid-term. The last question, worth 70 points or none at all was:
"Name seven advantages of mother's milk."
The student in question had also partied the night before, and was hard put to think of 7 advantages. He wrote:
1. It is a perfect formula for the child.
2. It provides immunity against several diseases.
3. It is always available as needed.
4. It is always at the right temperature.
5. It is inexpensive.
6. It bonds the child to the mother, and vice versa.
And then, the student was stuck. Finally, just before the bell indicating the end of the test was rang, he wrote:
7. It comes in cute containers.
He was the only student to ace the exam.
