Only two things I don't like about this guy.
First, he's been through airborne training, and there is no indication in his bio that he was ever assigned to a unit that requires that sort of training.
Unless one is assigned to a unit that jumps, there is no reason for a Marine to earn paratrooper wings.
Unfortunately, the Army's tendency to collect badges has seeped over into the Marine Corps.
Secondly, he has a Master's degree. There is no particular reason an officer needs to go graduate school. A better place to spend a year or so would be in command of an operational unit.
Again, the Army's practice of sending officers to earn graduate degrees has seeped into the Corps.

You win stupidest post of the day.
Re: His wearing of the Parachutist Badge. Airborne school is both a technical skill school and a leader development school. A man who will jump out of a perfectly good airplane with a parachute on his back, packed by a complete stranger, shows a disposition toward confidence, trust and physical courage.
Re: His going to graduate school and earning a Masters Degree, consider this quote,
"The Nation that makes a great distinction between its scholars and its warriors will have its thinking done by cowards and its fighting done by fools."
-Thucydides
