He would have to concede a lot to heal the schisms with the eastern church and protestants. I would be impressed if he just had the humility to renounce papal infallibility.

I doubt that will happen, although I don't get as upset about that particular item as others do. I was thinking something along the lines of admitting that the whole selling of indulgences wasn't the Church's brightest hour.

As Protestants, we can start by openly dissassociating ourselves from the "All-Catholics-are-going-to-Hell" crowd. We have just as far to go as Catholics do.
