Posted on 04/19/2005 11:07:48 AM PDT by ken5050
OK..here's what we know..Senate is in recess for the weekly party caucus luncheons. Supposed to resume at 2:15. on C-span 2.. The Foreign Relations committee is supposed to meet at 2:45 to vote on the Bolton nomination. Lugar has refused requests for a delay. Just before the Senate recessed, Reid objected to Frist's UC request for the Froeign Relations committee to meet today. Frist withdrew his request..

Did Kerry just say the Bolton nomination should be subject to a "Global Test?"

I think though, with the actions of the dems today, that Kyl's bet that a bunch won't make it to the judiciary committee meeting on Thursday for judicial nominee votes is pretty good!!!

"When"? More like "if" (after all, we're dealing with Senate RINOs here, not Republicans).

"OOPSY, Frist has just called for the Sargent at Arms to go and gather Senators in order to have a quorum---
They are voting on it right now---I have never seen this---are we having fun yet?"
WHAT does that mean? I'm cleaning toilets and running back and forth to FR! I LOATHE the RATS!

They would do much better with a transverse cut - get both the radial and ulnar vessels.

They're voting TO RECESS!!!
The dems are KICKING & SCREAMING!!! They don't want to let the FRC vote on Bolton cause he'll get voted out of committee.

What, that the RATs decided to pull a TX Chicken Dim strategy and run away? Or at least not show up?

Joe Biden is now moving for a delay too. He wants to have another private meeting with Jacques Chirac, just like he did in November 2003 to discuss the Kerry campaign.

I don't want to sound dumb, but what is happening and why is it good news? Does this mean the Senate will vote on Bolton today?

They are just voting to see if there is a quorum--Frist may end up recessing the Senate, if so, then there will be NO Bolton hearing, from what I understand---
Yesterday Dodds was trying to get Lugar to postpone todays vote, but Lugar said NO, so I guess they decided to "object" to having the meeting today, --- which I guess would bring the Senate to a halt, except for two cloture votes this afternoon.
