You should have seen the man-on-the-street-type interviews on the news last night. They asked a bunch of Catholic H.S. girls what they'd like to see in a new pope. As expected, they want someone who'll update the church and bring it into the 21st Century (soften the birth control thing, etc.). Otherwise, they say, it won't be able to attract new converts.

Perhaps not from the cafes of Rome and Paris and Hollywood. People in third world countries love the values of the Catholic church and it is growing steadily.
