Charitably speaking, MSM is "aflutter" --- in near meltdown over this choice. How they had hoped for an American liberal influence to reinforce their permissive and convoluted ideas; and barring that, a split in the Church.

Excellent article. We should call him "Der Panzerpope". He has God given moral courage. His views give a lot of moral clarity and are Christian mainstream which conservative Protestants and Evangelicals hold dear as well. He will be a formidable unifying voice for Christian conservatives everywhere and can do much to make the mystical Body of Christ the force it needs to be to combat evil. Its already starting as many people in my office are Protestants and Evangelicals and they are absolutely delighted with his election.
