To: Knitting A Conundrum

We needed a Pope who was going to stand firm against liberalism. We got it. It's my hope that he will also stand firm against Islam.

Regards, Ivan

Ivan,

I am utterly rejoicing. This was the best possible outcome.

"Listen carefully, my son, to the Master's instructions, and attend to them with the ear of your heart. This is advice from a father who loves you; welcome it, and faithfully put it into practice. The labor of obedience will bring you back to him from whom you had drifted through the sloth of disobedience. This message of mine is for all, and armed with the strong and noble weapons of obedience to do battle for the true king, Christ the Lord."

(the Rule of St. Benedict, Prologue, verses 1-3)

There is always significance in the Pope's choice of a name.

Rest assured that Pope Benedict XVI will stand firm against Islam.

Likewise I gave my reasons in support of this a few days ago and explained why we needed a "war pope".

Why the world now needs a "war pope"
