Well, personally I believe there should be maybe some synopsis of whats in the movie before people see it, so they know not to take their kids to it or play it on DVD, if it does not suit their taste or view of morality. It is the parents responsibility to do the research before hand. Perhaps theaters before entering have sheets available # of sex scenes, curse words, etc.

Everyone has his or her view of what is tolerable, don't need come censor company deciding for me what I should and should not see. At the same time I do not need Hollywood imposing scenes on me that I don't want to show my kids if I find out before via research what is in the movie. Should be up to the consumer to decide, buyer beware.

It WILL be up to the consumer which version they want. Simple as that. Why all the fuss? Why can't we have a choice?

The problem is, we don't know what's tolerable in a film unless we see it. And usually there's something gratuitous, not even germane to the plot, that Hollyweird throws in just to get a PG rating. Foul language or boob scenes. It makes me cringe, and renders my viewing experience less pleasant.

I'm all for pre-edited movies from the video stores where they do me the favor of removing the objectionable pieces. Of course, these movies should be labeled as "edited". I would consider this as a welcome service. Consumers could then have the choice of renting the original version or an edited version.

As for "Titanic", I thought the sex scene was superfluous to the main action, that of seeing the boat sink. I remember thinking, this is pathetic, they have to throw a cheap sex scene in when they have a storyline that is beyond compare.
