"It's very nasty and personal and scatological," says Washington Post reporter Dana Milbank

Like the endless stories more than hinting, despite all evidence to the contrary, that George W. Bush served less than honorably in the TANG, Dana?

As to Linda "my best friends are the Hubbells" Douglass's complaint, whatever, Linda. I find it hard to imagine you get much mail but wouldn't be surprised if the few missives you do get point out some flaw in your "reporting".

The problem most of us have with a "reporter" like Milbank is that we only have the Post's word about his bonafides.

I don't know his salary, his party, where he took his college degree, what his college degree was, where he lives, how many second homes he has, who he's married to.

I mean, if this guy writes about how bad guns are and he lives in a gated community with armed guards, how does that even relate to me? What if his wife is a Democrat big or operative? What if his college professors were Red Diaper babies, or his college was Berkeley or Columbia?

We don't get to hear that from his employer - we just have to take it on faith.
