Militia to be disarmed

KABUL(Online): Coalition forces have asked Afghans armed militia to surrender their arms to restore peace in Afghanistan, Radio Tehran reports. Spokesman of coalition forces William Bay said that 2,000 armed militias were still present in Afghanistan. He urged Afghans to assist them in the disarmament process.

It is pertinent to mention here that during the last days Taliban have intensified attacks against the US-led coalition forces.

‘MMA has taken practical steps for imposition of Sharia’

PESHAWAR: The NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has said that the teachings and Aswa-e-Husna of Great Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) were the real guiding force for the Muslims and added that helping out the people “Khidmat-e-Khalq” was the real worship. He said the MMA government would continue for the enforcement of Islam.

He was addressing Seerat-un-Nabi Conference organized by City District Government at Zilla Council Hall, Peshawar on Friday. The chief minister said that his government has already released Rs. One crore and Rs. Seventy lac for Burn Center and establishment of Srai in Peshawar.

The Provincial Minister Hafiz Hashmat, MPAs Dr. Zakir Shah, Maulana Ibrahim Qasmi, District Nazim Azam Afridi, Naib Nazim Dr. Iqbal Khalil, Town Nazimeen Haroon Bilour, Yasin Khalil, and Mumtaz Khan, Ulema-e-Karam and a large number of members of district assembly were present at the occasion.

The chief minister said that the aim of Muslims life is to preach and spread Islam. God Almighty has blessed us with knowledge and understanding and we have to learn more about the Aswa-e-Hasana of Greate Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) through such Seerat conferences.

He said that the Seerat of our Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) was a great source of strength for us. He said that MMA’s government would continue to strive for Islamiazation of the society within its limits. His government had already taken steps to promote virtues and Islamic teachings in the society.

Helping out the orphans, the establishment of Darul Kafala, and rehabilitation centers for drug addicts, establishment of Srai and provision of free books were steps towards promoting healthy acts in the society. He said that the deserving people would get training in these centers to become useful citizen of the society. Durrani said that MMA’s government has taken visible steps for the enforcement of Shariah within the provincial limits.

However, he said, if the people of the country voted ulemas to power at federal level definitely the ulemas would bring total islamiazation in the country and all decisions would be made in the light of Quranic injunctions and Sunnah. He said that despite Pakistan was created in the name of Islam but no effort made for Islamiazation. He said that Islam provides a system that resolves all problems of the people.

The chief minister announced Rs. 10 lac each for the District Library and District Council Mosque. The chief minister also distributed prizes amongst the Naat Khawan at the occasion. District Nazim Azam Afridi and Naib Nazim Dr. Iqbal Khalil and other speakers also spoke on the occasion.
