What an idiot.
Doesn't he realize that the purpose of 911 is to discipline the children of people who don't know how to do it themselves?
It would be a really good idea if we a telephone number that people could call in the case of life-threatening emergencies though.
What number would you suggest we set this up at?
I agree with you. Also, who knows what that poor MOTHER has been through. The article stated that one of the kids was emotionally disturbed.
One of my kids went through a period in her early teens just after she hit puberty where she was chemically imbalanced and it took years for the doctors to get her body chemistry/hormone levels uder control because her system kept changing.
She was very brittle. She'd go from being fine to being either self-destructive or violent. She'd usually have to be hospitalized to get her hormone levels back. Sometimes we'd be able to get her there ourselves, (when she was selfdestructive) but sometimes we'd need help (when she was violent.) There were times I was in fear for my life or hers! This was not "bad parenting" - it was a nightmare medical situation and no laughing matter.
The doctors said that if I felt she was a danger to herself or others, I was to call 911 right away.
I can not imagine what it would have been like if I'd had younger children taking advantage of her chaos to create their own issues!
For the record, they found the cause of my daughter's problems. Proper medication and maturity eventually took care of it - her body found its own rhythms - but I would NEVER want to relive those days!
