Yes, that is how I avoided them.
It was interesting how my school was majority black yet the AA and AP classes were majority white.
Must have been racism I guess
The sad part is that my black friends in my AA and AP classes were ridiculed and tortured for trying to get ahead. They were called "sell outs" and "uncle tom's" for trying to get an education. It is a vicious cycle perpetrated by rap and the glamorized ghetto lifestyle.
The problem was that you couldn't get away from the general population in classes such as gym and art.
I especially feared gym class because of the unmerciful beatings that occurred in the unmonitored locker room.
I was assaulted by 6 seniors my junior year because I was trying to protect a young tiny white girl who was being harassed.
And people wonder why kids bring guns to school. Thugs, all of them. It is a good thing I didn't have access to a gun at that age else my life may be very different.
The one good thing that did come out of it was that I did my best to stay in advanced classes to get away from it, so I did get a fairly good education, despite enduring 12 years of hell.
I'd never, ever make my kids go through what I endured.

It has been my experience that most of the black kids in these schools are taught racism at home and by the staff. They are allowed to call whites racist names and attack them with immunity. It is obvious that racism knows no color but with liberals only white males are racist.
