Freeman ordered his wife to get the man out of the house while he went for a walk, authorities said. I'm not one to blame the victim or anything, but you can see right here where the man went wrong. This tells us that he's a passive man, who obviously isn't too curious, and also lets his wife run the whole show. Let's go over this slowly. Man hears snoring and discovers a man in the closet. Man orders wife to kick him out of the house while he goes for a walk. How would other, less passive, men have handled the situation, hmmm? If YOU find a man in your closet, do you wait to find out what he's doing in your closet, giving your wife time enough to explain before you, a) call the cops, b) kick his ass down the hallway/stairway, out the door and then call the cops, or c) blow his head off with the shotgun (assuming it wasn't kept in the closet) and then call the cops?
Like I said, I'm not blaming the victim for getting himself killed, but the situation could have been handled differently. Having said that, I think the wife needs to go to jail just like the "lover".
And you know what, I'm not even sure if the "lover lives for a month in closet" story is true. This could have been a pre-planned hit, concocted by the wife, that went awry.

Gotta go home and check my closets. .45 ACP cocked and locked. If you see anyone jogging naked through your neighborhood, it may be because you came home early. < /Rodney Daingerfield>

Apparently Mrs. Freedman should have done a more thorough background check of her own "renter." I guess she checked all she needed.

Having said that, I think the wife needs to go to jail just like the "lover". CBS radio news at the top of the hour said that both she and the closet man are in jail.

The wife was doing the "undocumented migrant".
Nuts.
This is about 3 miles from my digs.
They should charge her too.

The first report I heard was that the husband killed the interloper.
I agree with your husband.
The whole story is absurd. It has "conspiracy to commit murder" written all over it. I doubt that the murderer had ever "lived" in the closet. He was in the closet on that particular night for the simple purpose of killing the husband.

There's too much material for any response that won't seem like a cheap shot. "Out of the closet", "Closet lover", etc, plus the victim does background checks on apartment dwellers and doesn't know about the killer in his own closet.
Like I said, too much material.

Has anyone ever seen the movie The Bliss of Mrs. Blossom? It starred Shirley Maclane. She kept a lover in her attic.

I have a walk-in closet in my townhome. Someone could live there if it weren't already crammed with crap.

Husband ought to buy some Viagra--or check his pill bottle more often to see how many are left.
