Aw, c'mon. Everybody knows that "Planet X" blew up, creating the asteroid belt, and sending chunks our way killing the dinosaurs.

The scientists do not have direct evidence that such a burst activated the ancient extinction.

....and they berate us Christians for not having direct evidence. I suppose this will be adopted as scientific fact shortly then.

So it takes the explosion of a nearby star to deplete half of the ozone layer, and yet puny little man is gonna do it with a can of hairspray?

I get it.

" ....and they berate us Christians for not having direct evidence. "

True, although a plausible computer model is still a lot more than Christians have.

That's why this is a hypothesis. Not a theory or scientific fact.

The scientists (54,000 Ph.Ds from 1,279 countries and 17 different planets) all agreed that the gamma-ray burst billions of years ago was caused by the fact that George W. Bush is going to let Halliburton drill for oil in Anwar in the future.

LOL! If I'm not mistaken I think they caused some guys in Hollywood to write a really depressing movie with a great title.

This is an old theory. This guy must be looking for research money. I did not read the article real close but it seems like he left out a few ifs and did not have any proof. Is this one of the left wing editorials that they call an exclusive?
