Not really. The same basic standards apply broadly, though there may be minor regional distinctions.
Like I said in an earlier post, masculine traits include beiong assertive, dominant, confident, goal-oriented, and more. Women respond to this in NYC as well as anywhere else - I know, I lived in nyc for 33 years.
Never was particularly goal oriented either. I've known many career minded men who were, and I don't think it made them masculine. A couple were downright wussy even.
