Did you watch the Yellowstone volcano show? How was it? I hope not full of PC crapola like the movie "the day after tomoroow" and other such recent garbage.
I was waiting all week for it and then forgot...
Much more likely, IMO, is a large earthquake followed by a tsumani in the northwest along the Cascadian subduction plate. This scenario was presented in a program leading up to the supervolcano show. Geologists have documented several large events that occurred within the past 2000 years. They claim that the subduction zone is similar to the Indonesian one and a large event could occur there in the future. Much more likely for this to occur than for a Yellowstone supervolcano in the near future (geologically speaking).
Did anyone watch the Mega Eruption on the Discovery Channel last night.
Tom Brokaw was the host. Movie was fiction based on facts.
Really good and really scary.

shoulda read the whole thread - before post #83
I thought the graphics "VIRGIL" were excellent. You are right about the politically correct dialogue. However, the scientific explanations seemed to ring true and for a "non-scientist" the show kept me glued to the TV well past my bedtime.
Wonder if they will repeat it?
