"Never forget"
yawn
BTTT
This needs to be reposted during the day for more widespread viewing.
I don't quite understand the "Yawn".
We must indeed never forget, but forget we have in the face of Islamofascist terror in Saudi Arabia and the Sudan.
But we should at the same time be leery of condemning all Germans.
Hitler never won an election in a free Germany. He manipulated the mechanism of Government to create a terror
state in which any criticism of him or his movement was a sentence of death.
We need look no further than the recently deceased Max Baer, German world championship boxer. When Hitler tried to get him to join the NAZI Party, he refused. Baer, a popular figure in Germany at the time, was then drafted in to the military and at Hitler's direct orders, forced into the paratroopers and sent on one of the most dangerous operations of the war, in which Baer, fortunately survived.
Or Rommel. Handed orders by the madman from Austria to kill all allied troops in North Africa before evacuating to Germany, he burned the orders and deliberately ignored them. Correcly implicated in a plot to kill the lunatic Austrian corporal, he was ordered to commit suicide or see his family punished for his actions.
Nor should we forget those few Germans who also aided the Jews - men like Schindler.
The point here is we should never be so naive as to assume what happened in Germany could never occur anywhere else, that it a unique German disorder. It is difficult for Americans today to understand what it is like to live under a madman and his depraved henchmen when you cannot organize, resist or arm yourself.
It could happen here. The targets may not be Jews - they may just be fellow Americans - but the tactics will be the same - the illegal usurpation of public power and control by a demogogue or band of demagogues. And I view our activist courts as potential agents of a similar circumstance.
Reading that caused my hair to stand on end. There is nothing like eye witness accounts. Nothing.
Wow.
