Maggie, thank you so much for leading me to another of the Mayor's tributes to our Lord and Savior.
Someday I'd like to sit down with the two of you and talk about His love and grace. I'd keep the coffee coming if y'all would keep your knowledge flowing.

Maggie, I think I'd rather eat here at the hospital, and, unless PI was a lot better than MCRD, you would, too!
But I have a vague memory of your likening for the chow line at PI...........

Now, that Guide-On waving in the sun makes my pulse race a little harder.

"DRESS RIGHT, MARINES!"

"DOUBLE TIIIIIIIIME,...HARRRRRCH!!"

Yeah, I'd give a lot to be back there with those guys for a little while.

One of my memories which refuses to die is that of an army of centipedes marching across the Arabian Desert with their thousands of little gold buckles on their sandals shining in the sun as "Bolero" drifts across the desert.
LOL!

I suspect you have that same memory, and I'm sorry no one else has the slightest idea of what we're talking about!

A Vision That Transforms

Read:
2 Corinthians 3:7-18

We all . . . are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. -2 Corinthians 3:18

Bible In One Year: Proverbs 19-21

In one version of the mythical tale of King Arthur, the young king is hiding in a tree, nervously awaiting his betrothed. After falling, he felt he had to explain himself to the princess. So he recounted how he mysteriously was able to pull a sword out of a stone, entitling him to be king.

"That's how I became king," Arthur told her. "I never wanted to be. And since I am, I have been ill at ease in my crown-until I dropped from the tree and my eye beheld you. Then suddenly, for the first time, I felt I was king. I was glad to be king. And most astonishing of all, I wanted to be the wisest, most heroic, most splendid king who ever sat on any throne." Simply gazing at his beloved brought about a change in character and purpose.

As we reflect on our beloved, the Lord Jesus, we too experience a transformation. Paul wrote, "We all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).

By gazing at our Lord in the pages of Scripture, and by yielding to the Holy Spirit, we become different people. We will want to become more like Him. And our highest desire will be to please Him. -Dennis Fisher

Was busy much of the evening crafting something I just posted to you, TC, interrupted over and over by calls and alarms on my electronic MA-CHINE (had to call for Support) -- and THEN saw your reply to my earlier post, after I finally winged the new one to the thread.

Yes - The Mayor and I would love to sit with you and dwell on His Providence and love and grace given us!
How grand that would be!!

Would serve coffee in blue mugs, of course, and hoist them skyward with regularity....all three of us saying

[P.S. - yes, the chow at Parris Island was fantastic, because the chow hall was manned by male recruits who were afforded their *only* opportunity to see and flirt with wimmin..:))

We never had to do KP, and they fed us very well, and in vast quantities!]
