I was speaking of the Hebrew word almah which does not mean virgin. It means young woman. And before you say, "Well it is assumed that a young unmarried woman is a virgin", Judaism is passed along the mothers's line. Why? Well, even back then they knew that one always knows who their momma is, but maybe not who their daddy is.
