Great Post. Many anti-Marian Protestants do not realize that in Mary we see the promises of God's grace and salvation fullfilled. These same promises are ours-not by our own efforts but by the Grace of God.
Pope John Paul II was extremely devoted to Mary. But He proclaimed Jesus alone as savior. People who doubt the Pope's orthodoxy should take the time to read some of his writings. Go to www.vatican.va. Mary shows us how to be Christian- submitt to God's will, accept whatever suffering comes our way, do not abandon Christ when the world turns against Him and love Him above all else. Her words in the Bible are few but very telling. If we follow her example we can not help but to be drawn closer to Jesus the Christ.
I know I pray daily : ...Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
