I am reminded of my next door neighbor when I was growing up- always in church every week, in the front row, holier than everybody... and then screaming her lungs out at the neigbors when she got home.
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
Sometimes that happens when someone says something like,

To try and answer the question about praying to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God. Besides devotion to God himself, Catholics have a special affection to Mary and her Immaculate Heart. Because she was brought into the world without original sin, and she bore God's son Jesus, she is without equal among other humans. She holds such a special place as the Mother of God, and she is in the absolutely best position to intercede for us by way of prayer and devotion. That is why praying the Rosary is so important for the repose of souls including Pope John Paul II and, of course, to pray for our own salvation.
