To: Big Giant Head
Once inside, one tried not to get stuck, break the light, and run the nozzle between the water pipes to blow slag off that gets stuck on them.

I thought you used a Remington kiln gun and MasterBlaster ammo for that job?

I guess I didn't say I was cleaning the economizer section. This is where the cold water is initially pumped in, to be preheated by the exhaust going out. The firebox was easy.

When the boilers were online, we had to pull ash manually from the collectors and rake it into the suction system. One of the boilers' fire box belt was too short, and we would open the doors and find red hot coals molded into a solid wall. We had to break it apart with steel rods, spray it with water, whatever we could do. MAJOR pain in the posterior. Felt like a sunburn every two hours.
