My worst was collecting sheep piss for a biochemical company. We'd give shots to some old rams, then put them in cages and strap a funnel on their...well, you get the picture. The funnel would run the pee into a jug, which we would collect and take to the company for processing - they made a cancer-treatment drug out of it.
The shots must have been quite painful - the rams hated us. We would beat them with shovels when they would attack, then rope and stuff them into their cages.
One part I refused to do - apply vaseline to their...well, you get the idea. Prevented chapping while their privates were in the funnel.

I spent most of a year disconnecting the wiring from 8 printing press's at our local newspaper, then re-wiring them at the new location.
So basically I was BLUE for a year. A chemical called varisol took the ink off, if you scrubbed hard enough, but then that chemical bleached you. And it ruined your skin, my hands constantly cracked and bled...

Once inside, one tried not to get stuck, break the light, and run the nozzle between the water pipes to blow slag off that gets stuck on them. I thought you used a Remington kiln gun and MasterBlaster ammo for that job?

The Smelliest job I had was working in live man holes and the scariest was cleaning the fines beneath moving conveyor belts at a rock crushing plant.

My worst job was working at a seafood distributor. Couldn't go out in public after work. My cats loved me though.

I guess I didn't say I was cleaning the economizer section. This is where the cold water is initially pumped in, to be preheated by the exhaust going out. The firebox was easy.
When the boilers were online, we had to pull ash manually from the collectors and rake it into the suction system. One of the boilers' fire box belt was too short, and we would open the doors and find red hot coals molded into a solid wall. We had to break it apart with steel rods, spray it with water, whatever we could do. MAJOR pain in the posterior. Felt like a sunburn every two hours.
Thanks for the links!
