After he got a couple of things out of his system, he has- remember the speeches in Europe that were soooo embarrassing? - I don't think that polled well because he began to be minutely supportive. Also 9/11 helped to warm him up.

I agree. I think it results from Clinton doing the math and realizing GWB is a 2 term President and has already established a real place in history resulting from his actions in his first term. The GWB legacy will be a good one and Clinton is smart. He knows it is rewarding to at least make it look like you support the winning team.
