A Central High School social studies teacher could lose his job "for mimicking an African-American" at a student-faculty basketball game March 25.
Bibb County Schools Superintendent Sharon Patterson said Tuesday that she has recommended Greg Dougherty for termination.
Patterson said she first heard of the incident in the middle of last week but did not begin her investigation until Monday, when classes resumed after spring break. She sent a letter to Dougherty on Tuesday, she said.
Erin Weaver, principal at Central High, confirmed Tuesday that Dougherty was on administrative leave and had been recommended for termination "for mimicking an African-American."

Didn't you know that only blacks are allowed to imitate other blacks and only blacks are allowed to call another black a n$gga. Let a white person do it and you see what happens to them for offending one of the lefts' most prized and cherished possessions, a "minority". Minorities, especially blacks, hold almost "godlike" status in the eyes of the left. They are not to be insulted, made fun of, ridiculed, or even held to the same standard as the rest of us because they hold permanent "victim" status. Anybody that violates these tenants, will suffer the wrath of the left.

Only the left are allowed to mock and tease...you can be white and tease a black person but you have to be a liberal.

Would you go to some sort of work-related function in black face?It would depend on what the function was. :-) Hypersensitivity comes from someone looking for offense or to be offended. Believe me... the black girls I work with mimick the white girls all the time. We just laugh it off.

Student vs teacher basketball games are usually for fun and having a good time..lots of jokes...and raising money for a good cause..
Teach took and unofficial poll and the kids seem to think it would be funny if he did it...
My guess is the guy probably thought he was going to entertain the kids ..make them laugh...etc
He should have talked it over with the faculty first...
But fire him...the kids probably laughed but a few self righteous parents looking for any excuse to be offended or to make political book found their opening and decided that ruining a otherwise good teacher's career is not as important as their right to be offended..and to throw a temper tantrum about it...
Hopefully when their kids come home and tell them they aren't learning anything at that school...the parents figure out why...they just got rid of a good teacher...and have taken something good away from their own kids..
But in order to figure that out they would have to put their self righteousness aside at least for uno momentito imo

This is absolutely ridiculous. Political correctness at its extreme.
The school where this fellow teaches is about 90% black. I am sure he wasn't trying to be offensive, just having fun and showing some good school spirit at the game.

How come when a teacher imitates an African American it's racist, but when Enimem does it they give him millions of dollars?"
A white man trying to make rap comprehensible to little white girls is called a translator, not a racist.

Did he double-dribble or travel?"
Nah, that's allowed in the NBA these days. All the stars do it.
The inside scoop is that he tried to jump and that gave him away.

Hey, do yall even go to the school? If you don't go to that school LIKE I DO THEN YOU SHOULD REALLY GET THE WHOLE STORY BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING! There is another side to every story, and you havent even heard anything. All you hear is he 'mimicked an african-american'. Thats not the whole story, and you're trying to say he quizzed his students if it would be insensitive, well he did ask them and they said NO!!!! For your information, the class was mostly african-american students. People need to let this matter alone, because if the minorities at our school were not offended by it, and it happened right in front of our face; then there is obviously nothing wrong. Yall need to get on all these other people yall put in office, and do not have the correct credentials for the actual position. (ALL POSITIONS)

(I ACTUALLY ATTEND CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL, AND IM NOT AFRAID TO SAY THAT MR. D IS A GREAT TEACHER!!!!!!!)

You really shouldn't give so much information about yourself on your profile page. ...
That said, I think the consensus here is that people are too sensitive and the teacher shouldn't be fired. At the same time, it shows an incredible lack of judgment on the teacher's part for a) not realizing that he would get in trouble for showing up in blackface and b) seeking advice from students.
