Morale was good, 72-76 so Carter hadn't done his damage yet. I had just expected more than riding around the plains of Kansas in a Econoline Van visiting holes in the ground. Occasionally we had to make emergency visits and got to go Huey riding over the plains of Kansas and visit holes in the ground. I had applied for PJ school during basic but was turned down because I was married. Bummer.

PJ huh, my respect for you just climbed! Those guys are impressive! I didn't know being married was a dis-qualifier, but it sort of makes sense. My daughter, who is active duty AF, had students who were PJ's. She was telling me that their life expectancy in battle was like 20 mins or something obscene.
I had some friends in Command Post at Loring and they didn't get to leave the building. Your job did sound dull. My friends seemed to live on antacids from their job. I didn't know what they did, tho. You know, they could have told me, but then they'd have to kill me...
