To be honest I'd like it so people had to prove they were responsible enough to own any dog. Most reputable dog breeders take a pretty serious interest in the type of home their dogs are going to. I wouldn't have a problem with a license to breed dogs and sell them. A dog is a huge responsibility no matter what breed, like a child they must be taught right from wrong and taught their place both in the family and in society. Also like a child if they are abused or neglected the chances of them growing up "bad" are very high. I don't have all the answers, but the same problems with dogs exist with kids and you don't need a license for those either.

On a side note here's the WWI Navy APBT mentioned earlier, the APBT was often used as a symbol of the USA at that time because of its admirable qualities.

Great find on that navy sign. Do you know where I could get one of those. That is the sad thing - the American Pitbull Terrier has much of the spirit of America in it. That is why I love the breed. I like that it needs extra care to be great. America took a lot of work and sacrifice, and now we are the only world superpower, and although are freedoms are rapidly being taken away by bloated government we still have that "live free or die mentality". That is somewhat why I like the APBT - it is a tenacious at times, and yet it is incredibly loving and loyal.
