I trained Jake to respond to hand signals. I could swing my arm right and he would immediately move to the right, looking for birds or a tennis ball in the lake.
Jake reached 115 pounds at age two and the vet suggested he'd be healthier if we reduced his chow. He seemed happy at around 90-95 pounds and lived to almost nine years. He developed a fast growing cancer on his lower jaw and we had to put him down. It really broke me up to lose him.

LulaBelle is only 3 years old. She has weighed 75 pounds since she was 8 months old. She is about a year old in that picture. I try not to think about losing her some day. She is an important member of the family.
