"No offense to anyone, but ...this and two bucks gets you a ride on a subway. Who cares? Who remembers? And what effect does any sports team winning really mean in the grand scheme of life?"
I think May made 4 or 5 million tonight. We will see in the draft. It will probably mean quite a bit in his grand scheme of life.
Illinois got to shoot over illegal screens the whole second half. Couple that with the way the refs let them mug AZ down the stretch and you got no gripe. Good riddance to them.
Yes. When the buckeyes had the ball with 3rd down in the 4th quarter with 2 minutes to go the Miami defender held Chris Gamble and the ref did not call defensive holdings. So yes I agree the refs made some bad calls. LOL!!! I have a 2 t-shirt and a throw that says WE WON!!! LOL!
BWAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope you all realize what that piece of crap university stands for before you go about congratulating them. They hate us conservatives and they hate this state. I will gladly tell that to anybody who brings them up in conversation before this game, after and anytime in the future. by the way, if you buy there crap merchandise, then you are giving your money to the other side. Rant off. check it out for yourself

Yep, I think about it everytime they ask me for a contribution to the alumni association...but now's not the time to worry about it. Besides, not everyone at/from UNC is a molly coddled bedwetting liberal. I went to UNC and I'd like to think that I moved a few of my fellow students to our side of the aisle. NC is still a red state, you know.
Not sure about the 9 points, but I agree...terrible officiating..."TOUCH FOULS"?...for the national title.
Oh well, St. Louis Cardinals baseball coming up.

Who gives a crap? They just won me money, baby!
Besides, the 4 UNC friends I have are ALL conservatives.
By 'conservative', I'm using the Jeffersonian definiton of limited gov't and limited gov't spending, btw, not the definition that passes for 'conservative' these days...
Could you let me know where I can buy some of that $1.11 per gallon gasoline? (Suggest Freepmail, otherwise the gas lines will look like the crowd on Franklin Street!)
Musta gone to State, Huh??
Amen to that...from a MARYLAND TERPS fan! I have no love for UNC (I hate them, actually), though I do respect Roy Williams and am happy for his win.
However, the non-calls on moving screens were inexcusable - Illinois was throwing blocks that offensive linemen would envy.
The two best teams played in this final and the better team won...Illinois has no legitimate complaints IMHO. They had chances to win but had no answer for Sean May.
Congrats to the deserving national champs from UNC...
Augustine out with 5 'touch fouls', played 9 minutes. No one else could guard May.

I went for the Terps in 2002. Thanks!
Right, I saw 2 of the calls against Augustine and he was just playing D.
Oh well, Chicago Cubs baseball coming up. This is their year!
BUT, I still have a soft spot for the Cubbies...if the Cards can't do it, give me Cubbies.
Easy big guy. My wife is a UNC grad and she is as Christian and conservative as they come. Granted, there has been a libby takeover there in many areas, but the same is true of almost all big colleges. Doesn't mean we can't appreciate a good basketball team. My guess is most sports department people are far more to the right than the other faculty.
That sounds familiar. I wonder why. ; )
You're right........illegal screens were ignored all night long! :-)
