If gas prices stay high, it will be THE issue in the next election, especially if it tanks the economy. Gay marriage, judges, Social Security, culture of life vs culture of death, NONE of that will even be on the radar screen. The only thing that might overshadow it is if there's another terrorist attack on our soil.

I'll be surprised if the price of milk, bread and other basics stays low after this huge hit. In spite of ridiculous fuel costs, the retailers have been trying to hold prices down, but they can't do it much longer if they're getting hit with these increases as well as the average commuter.

This is going to hurt our economic recovery worse than anything else.

Since I am from the third biggest exporter of Oil, I have mixed feelings about the oil price. It is really good for my countrys economy, but bad for others. Still good to have the black gold. So I kinda like the high oil price
