SAVE THE SAN DIEGO CROSS UPDATE (April 7th deadline for submitting 100-thousand petitions)
ROGER HEDGECOCK SHOW ^ | 4/5/04

Posted on 04/04/2005 12:44:06 PM PDT by Liz

WE ARE CHASING THE FINAL days until April 7th (this Thursday) our drop deadline for submitting more than 100-thousand petitions to Save Our Cross. The mailing address is at the bottom of the petition. You may also drop them off at ROGER'S studio at KOGO, 9660 Granite Ridge Drive, San Diego, 92123.

THEN ON THURSDAY ROGER will broadcast live from City Hall in the concourse plaza. Volunteers, members of the Save Our Cross Committee and hundreds of other folks will be there to shout "Reverse The Vote," loud enough for even the most DD&B council person to hear.the voice of the people. Join us live from 3p - 6pm Thursday. Council will be astounded by the number of petitions we'll submit (we actually legally need 33,600) but we need them to see US as well.

We are producing a large number of wooden crosses to give out on Thursday. That will be our banner. If I was a smart hot dog vendor I'd set up shop at the concourse on Thursday afternoon.

ON FRIDAY we were able to report on ROGER'S show that we have in hand 70-thousand petition signatures. We were chasing 100-thousand.now we'd like 150-thousand. While it's vital that you send in your signed petitions now.don't stop getting signatures. We can still squeeze a couple of days out of this drive.

It's an outrage that the ACLU's obsessive power-fixation on the First Amendment is being used as a destructive tool to eradicate Christian symbols---from the Ten Commandments to crosses, to prayers in public places....and so on, and so forth, ad infinitum, ad nauseaum. You'd think the ACLU types would get professional treatment for their severe self-esteem problems, rather than incessantly beating up on innocent Christ

Can we sign a petition even if we don't live in San Diego, or California? If so, let us know where/how to do it. I'll sign, but not if my sig. is ineligible, or illegible, or completely misspelled ack!

Speaking as an agnostic, I never could understand why those in my camp are so freaking intolerant. Religious displays don't bother me in the least.

About the San Diego cross; when I was in the Navy and homeported out of San Diego at the foot of that cross was one of the areas prime make-out spots, ironic huh? So much debauchery, such nice memories. I'd hate to see it go.

I would like to sign a petition to keep the cross there. I have seen that cross many times as a child, it is very beautiful. Hopefully someone one would be able to post the petition sign up sheet in here.

I was in San Diego last week for the first time in almost a decade. Mainly I wanted to show my home town to my sons and I pointed out the cross on Mt. Solidad and other things that are going the way of the Coronodo Ferry, swimming at the Children's Pool, and too many other things lost to what passes itself off as progress.

I think you have to be a registered voter here, but I'm not sure. Two of our gay contractors signed it (no, not the construction worker from The Village People). Of course, one had mentioned how the whole idea of "gay marriage" is a joke, so they're reasonable.

"Two of our gay contractors signed it..."

Doesn't surprise me a bit, it's really very beautiful.
