As a rule most of the straight world does not. Most of the straight world is HIV free and not at risk for it so long as they are monogamous and do not use illegal iv drugs.

The straight world does have a big problem with other STDs. SOmeplace I read that 20% of the adult population in US was infected with one or another STD. That's comparable to AIDS rates in some African countries, so promiscuity is a problem here as much as it is there.
