Agreed. Elian won't be forgotten nor will Terri. So many things have gotten screwed up that straightening them out again seems overwhelming. Yet when diagramming how various issues connect, the crucial areas where action is needed become more apparent. Terri was important in exposing more of the pattern. Not just euthanasia, but also the overall role of the judiciary in America. And how every issue comes from the fight between good and evil.
I suggest two points, the first being that the congress can tell the difference between the standard MoveOn boiler room operation, and the legitimate expression of the majority of Americans.
The second point I would make is that the American people are not pleased with the murder of Terri Schiavo, nor with rationalizing by the murderers or by those who refused to prevent the murder.
Of course a vocal minority of shrieking fairies prefers judicial tyranny and loathes Tom Delay as despicable.
