Gee, this is going to come as a terrible shock to Dan Brown, Henry Lincoln, and the followers of Pierre Plantard! LOL! And poor Mary Magdalen. [irony]
Maybe Opie can makes some changes to the Tom Hanks' Da Vinci Code Film. Apparently Ron Howard and Tom Hanks both have some experience in this area. Are Don Knotts and Jim Nabors still alive, by any chance? What about Floyd, Goober, and Otis?

Why is anybody surprised by this?
In a country where an openly treasonous "professor" (and one who earned his "credentials" through cheating and plagarism) receives $100K a year from a state university...
in a country where local, state and federal judges have all ruled that it is against the law for a mother to give water to her thirsting daughter...
in a country where foreign nationals plotting to murder us all are accorded not only all the rights of the US constitution, but rights that aren't even in the constitution...
in a country where people who break the immigration laws are rewarded with drivers licenses...
in a country where at least some localities have legalized gay marriage...
in a country where an organization like NAMBLA is permitted to exist...
in a country like that, why are you a bit shocked or suprised that a "reverend" publicly proclaims the "homosexuality of Jesus"?
There's nothing shocking in this country anymore. If it's stupid, immoral, against children, against public safety or otherwise outlandish, not only will it be done, but it will be praised by a doting leftist press.

The Episcopal Church of the United States deserves every bit of trouble they get over this guy.

Rev. Gene Robinson: Jesus 'might be 'gay''
The irony to the situation is because of the church, over the last 1600 years, discrediting and downplaying Mary Magdalen's relationship with Jesus, they leave themselves open to these types of, 'Jesus was gay', arguements.
Personal, I think Jesus was a hetrosexual.

I can't tell you the drunks who called me 'Barney' when I was in law enforcement. Their favorite saying to all policemen.

Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson, the first openly homosexual bishop of his denomination, has angered traditionalist Anglicans by suggesting that Jesus Christ might have been homosexual. The Episcopals.... that's that group wot was a religion once, right?

Otis as the self-loathing drunk in-the-closet homosexual? I can see it now. Of course, there would definitely have to be a wardrobe change. Perhaps Versace.

A gay Da Vinci Code using the old Andy Griffith and Bosom Buddies casts might be an improvement on Dan Brown's wild fantasies. Aunt Bea might might make a good Salome or Mrs. Pontius Pilate. Don Knotts was a riot in Three's Company. The man was a talented comic genius and actor.

Together with Floyd, no doubt, the barbershop was the headquarters for the pedophile ring in Mayberry. Even as a child, I was terrified by Floyd.

Give em enough rope.
I hope the good folks in the church are able to reverse this error and remove this fellow.
This could wake em up.

expected dueling banjos when he appeared.

In fact, I can't remember ANYONE from childhood who ever watched The Andy Griffth Show who WASN'T terrified by Floyd. Together with the Beatles, that may explain the boycotts of barbershops during the 1960s and 1970s that I remember.

Barbering is one of the professions where a grown man can legally get his hands on a young boy's body without causing undue attention.
