Oh, that was just so sad when I first heard it today. And then I thought, perhaps, perfect timing (if it was enevitable that MS was going to have it done, and could not be stopped from such a hurtful, insensitive act).
Pope JP,II, I am sure, knew somehow. I do believe there is a job they will be doing together from Heaven. Their deaths - and the sharp contrast of the manner - will serve to enlighten many.
Additionally, I am sure her family found some comfort that the cremation happened at a time when all the angels and pure souls of heaven were at attention. I am sure they rang out together, in John Paul's words: "Be not afraid," and the Schlinder family heard them in their hearts and were granted peace. IMHO, there is a symbolism to it that we can think of it as a good time.
