Terri Schiavo Cremated Amid Family Feud
Saturday, April 02, 2005
TAMPA, Fla. Terri Schiavo's body was cremated Saturday as disagreements continued between her husband and her parents, who were unable to have their own independent expert observe her autopsy.
The cremation was carried out according to a court order issued Tuesday establishing that Michael Schiavo () had the right to make such decisions, said his lawyer, George Felos. He said plans for burying her ashes in Pennsylvania, where she grew up, had not yet been completed.
Terri Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, had wanted to bury their daughter in Pinellas County so they could visit her grave.
Terri Schiavo, 41, died Thursday after the removal of the feeding tube that had kept her alive since 1990, when she suffered brain damage that court-appointed doctors determined had placed her in a persistent vegetative state (). Her parents had fought in court to keep her alive, disputing the doctors' opinions and saying there was hope of improvement.

Yes but before anyone knew that, the conspiracy was that MS was going to have her cremated immediately so no autopsy could be done.
Thats what he was going to do until he found out an autopsy was the law.

I noticed lots of comments that Florida laws requires autopsies if the body is to be cremated. Given that both of my parents died in Florida and both were cremated, and that neither of them had an autopsy--I think those saying that it is Florida law are wrong.

I felt terrible, and I didn't know her. I don't understand how a man could be so cruel when her parents were willing to pay for her needs. Mr. Schiavo should also be denied food and water!

well my statement was kind of BS anyway. we all judge people whether we admit it or not. so it's kind of a moot point.

Suppose it later comes out in the MSM that he assaulted his wife then spent years making sure she never recovered to tell the story. What are all those who were clamouring for Terri's death going to say?

I'm sorry. I wasn't critisizing your post. I was just saying 48 hours seems like a short time for an autopsy. I just picked your post to answer to.

Where's Oliver Stone when you really need him?
Just about EVERYONE that had official responsibility for this woman denied her justice. And now, even in death.

P.S. Did Sandy Berger somehow time his conviction to come out just now?

The sad part is what we did to her
We????
The sad part really is that this case received days of wall to wall coverage and there are many people dying in Iraq supporting the US military who die without any mention at all.
When I said "we", I meant "humanity," which in this sense is oxymoronic, if you ask me.
And I couldn't agree with you more. While each and every life is special and sacred, this one case drew attention away from a much larger issue with many more lives at stake. Not to say we shouldnt have fought for Terri. That's just who we conservatives are; we fight for right. (no pun intended! =P)

You may be right. I just heard it on the news but we know how reliable (not) the news is these days.

Please allow me to say that GOD said that we should not fear those who can (only) destroy the body, but that we should fear Him who can destroy the soul by casting it into hell.
Judge Greer, the necrophiliac Felos, and the Schiavo family have succeeded in destroying Terri's body.
However...
GOD's judgment will be for eternity.

Everything that I, personally, could possibly do. But I have NO Florida executive power, and you should obviously know that! So just sit down and shut up, before you expose even more of your arrogant ignorance !!!

I've read news reports that Judge Greer had ruled that Terri could be cremated without an autopsy. So this is a little conflicted right now.

"Bush appointee", it should be noted, is a misnomer. Jeb appointed this ME based on the advice of a committee as usual. He was actually appointed recently (he's young, mid-30s and a Texan) to replace a corrupt ME.
