Dr. Cyril H. Wecht, the well-known forensic pathologist and coroner of Allegheny County, Pa., told listeners of a morning radio show that he was denied permission to observe Terri Schiavo's autopsy, despite the wishes of her parents.
A medical examiner in Pinellas County, Florida, is conducting an autopsy that could help determine what Schiavo's state of consciousness was and whether she was abused by her husband, as the Schindlers allege. Wecht, appearing on the syndicated America's Morning Show with Quinn and Rose, based in Pittsburgh, said that an investigator working for the Schindler's law firm had called him on Thursday to see whether he would be agreeable to observing the autopsy.
Dr. Wecht told Quinn and Rose he was certainly be agreeable to that, but that several hours later he received word that the medical examiner had declined to give him permission.
Dr. Wecht told the morning hosts that he considered this a mistake, according to Rose Somma Tennent. "He said that, if this were in [his] office, [he] would have said sure - not just because of professional courtesy, but because of the controversy sourrounding this case," Somma Tennet said.
Calls made during the show to the medical examiner's office were not returned.
The results from the autopsy are expected in a few weeks.

Normally, ravingnutter, I'd say it would be unfair to condemn innocent parties...but not in Pinellas County. That seems to occur too often. There's nothing I've seen yet coming out of Pinellas County, from any individual who has any kind of power, or has been entrusted with the public good, to have shown any kind of goodness/duty/accountability/responsibility to SERVE THE PEOPLE who pay their salaries.
Pick away, personally I think the Scientologists are a bunch of corrupt brain washing idiots :) In that part of the world I consider anything they say or do suspect.
Wecht is a media hound, but I challenge you to name another prominent forensic pathologist.
Only an insane man would let these people have their own there when it is obvious that it would only be so that Michael could be attacked over the results.
Schiavo has NO influence or authority over the ME and he has NO reason to lie to protect him. But that won't stop the chorus of crazies from claiming foul play when the truth comes in that she was in exactly the state claimed for exactly the reason claimed. Why would they stop lying now? When they have claimed that the whole world is in a conspiracy to "kill" Terri who would doubt they will add the ME to it?
It appears everyone in the county are connected at best and inbred at worst.

Methinks this autopsy will be a farce. But why shouldn't the final chapter of the Terri Schiavo tragedy be just as much scripted as everything that went before it?
Why yes, I would. However, I have really done it now. I have stayed away from posting on that thread in the smoky backroom, however, I thought I was privately freepmailing someone on that thread, but I posted it for all to see!!! Now they are harassing me.....I hope I am not the only one that has done that. What a mistake.
Based on Michael's propensity toward spite, overwhelming control, self-centered behavior and the testimony of various individuals reporting his various comments over the years.
Felos has one agenda, and that is to insure that euthanasia is legalized. He realized that, above everything, Michael Schiavo (for whatever reasons and possibly sinister ones) was very easy to manipulate.
